My family and I love playing scrabble but we tend to take way too long to do our turns. We may need to start putting up a timer to make games take reasonable amounts of time.

Has anyone ever played the game Risk? We averaged 2 or 3 days to complete a game in our family. That is if the cats didn't jump onto the board and we had to write it off as global apocalypse.

Thanks.

You simply don't know what to believe, but you're willing to try

anything once. Western values, Eastern values, hedonism and minimalism, you've spent

some time in every camp. But you still don't have any idea what camp you belong in.

This makes you an individualist of the highest order, but also really lonely. It's

time to chill out under a tree. And realize that at least you believe in

ferries.

It always gets movies just after they leave major theaters but before they hit video. So you can catch those movies you missed at a HUGE discount.

Just be sure to get there close to on time for movies. I've had a couple times when I tried to get to a movie late and they tend to close up sales on a movie about 15 minutes after its start time.

Almost every kid's movie ends up there before going to DVD, and if we like the movie enough, I figure it's worth a buck (-and a half) to preview before we buy it for our son's collection.

And, since date nights come so seldom, we rarely get to see the new releases, so seeing them a few weeks later is no big deal for us. Plus, we get to see them for a total of $12 (with sharing) instead of the usual $25 or $30.

There used to be a very cool theater in town that showed cheap flix, but seated customers around a table in super padded swivel chairs. Instead of standing in line for snacks, they had table service and offerings including caesar salads, veggie plates, wings, burgers, popcorn with real butter, pitchers of beer or cocktails.

I miss them so!

This Friday I'm going to ask my husband to pick up the dog after work, and then pick up our son, and take them both to our favorite park. I'll meet them there with a blanket, pizza and drinks and treat them to a surprise picnic.

Another reason to look forward to the weekend! Let's see...what kind of special picnic can I pack for the dog?

We're coming around gradually and have cut down on the number of sandwich bags we use, and carry canvas bags to the grocery store--atleast I do, but not husband. The plastic bags he brings home get re-purposed for lunches, dog-poop, waste baskets, Goodwill donations, etc. I'd love to see them go away entirely, but that will take something like a thousand years.
