julie guyot! ceramic artist extraordinaire!
hey, look at me procrastinate on those promised movie reviews!
i've just got a quick minute here, but i wanted to plug my favorite exhibit from friday night's visit to the railroad square gallery hop.
"contemporary clay" is a group show featuring the works of league of graduate artists julie guyot, stephen hawks, and brittni wegman. guyot's work in porcelain with laser transfers addresses the heavy question of interaction between craft media and fine art with a light touch, and i adore it. go have a look. on display now at big bend contemporary (open 12-4, saturday and sunday).
for more info on big bend contemporary stop by their web site at www.bigbendcontemporary.com, and for a sneak peek, check out the current exhibits listing (at the "calendar" tab) for a photo of guyot's installation. there's also a link, at the "artists" tab, to the the league of graduate artists web site where you can find artist statements from guyot and hawks.
