files that you want to have, but they're either so rare or so new that
it seems like nobody has them. In those cases you generally have to
tediously scour all of the torrent sites that you have accumulated
throughout your career of being a filthy pirate, or just give up.

A great time saver for the pirate, Torrent Scan is a great new Firefox
Add-on
that allows you to search for torrents without having to visit your
entire pirate repertoire of torrent sites. Torrent Scan is a tool bar
that automatically searches all of the best torrent websites for you,
and it produces great results.

The add-on scans through sites like BTjunkie, isoHunt, SUMOtorrent, and a bunch of others. GET IT HERE!

It has a ridiculous amount of torrent engines, but they're not all active at first. You can click the little wrench icon at the top, go to customize engines, and then drag and drop engines available to you from another "available engines" list to your active engines if you want to scan those too! And, if you want to make it really pretty you can select a theme.

Torrent Scan is the most customizable torrent add-on there is, I would suggest you check it out if you're into file sharing.

The Pirate Bay Will Fight!

ThePirateBay.org, one of the internet's largest BitTorrent tracker websites was shut down yesterday, and with the perfect execution of an extremely well thought out backup plan has gotten itself back up already!

The team at The Pirate Bay put the pedal to the floor and got the site back up within 3 hours from a different ISP. After a few more hours of troubleshooting the technical difficulties, the site is fully functional for now. Unfortunately the site is set to be sold later this week, so the hours are limited.

The team wants to show authorities and the entertainment industry that they are not giving up and that people will always strive to connect with each other to share the music and media that influences each of their lives. If it has to be that one tracker after another is put up and shut down, this kind of sharing will always go on.

The badasses at The Pirate Bay state their message with the words of Churchill:

"We have, ourselves, full confidence that if all do their
duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made,
as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to
defend our Internets, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the
menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

Even though large parts of Internets and many old and famous
trackers have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Ifpi and all the
odious apparatus of MPAA rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go
on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the ef-nets
and darknets, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing
strength in the air, we shall defend our Internets, whatever the cost
may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the
baywords.org, we shall fight on the /. and on the digg, we shall fight
in the courts; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a
moment believe, the Internets or a large part of it were subjugated and
starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the
Anon Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in Cerf’s good time,
the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue
and the liberation of the old.

Signed;

The Pirate Bay Crew – Now until needed."
