Blog Day Afternoon

Take a walk on the mild side.

I Need a Vacation After My Vacation

I am so glad I allowed one day of recovery after my vacation. The first day was mostly driving (and getting lost). The next three days were spent sun-up to sun-down at an amusement park. The last day was more driving. I couldn't stand any more vacation. I was so happy to get home and sleep in my own bed with my own husband. (That doesn't sound quite right.) Having meals at normal times with food I usually eat. The next day I mostly napped and did laundry and started worrying about what I would face at work the next day.

You and me both! I planned to come home Saturday, but I promised my son a trip to the beach, and it rained Friday. Instead of driving home on Saturday, we drove out to my best friend's house, and went with her to the beach for about three delightful hours.

I say the extra day was for Jack, but I needed to decompress after a few days at my mom's! Becky and Sharon have both already lost their moms, and both suffered dementia at the end, so they know what I'm going through and have helpful suggestions -- and pina coladas!

We got home around 3:00 Sunday--just in time for the rest of the family and their posses to gather for the Father's Day cookout. The last of them cleared out at 9 PM. But I'm still trying to do a load of laundry every morning and night to get caught up, and we're both still exhausted.
