Welcome to our blog! Here's a short introduction to the religion we studied.

Protestant Christianity in America

About sixty percent of American adults are Protestant in the United States. But those sixty percent could not ever be a majority because they are all split into different groups. Of those, there are Baptists, African Americans, Methodists, Lutheran, Presbyterian, and so on.

Our nation is what it is today because of Protestants. They were the first ones here, fleeing independence from Catholicism.

Protestants rely on the Bible. They believe God shows grace through Jesus Christ. He taught, did wonderful things, attracted a following, and was put to death. The human is a sinner and needs God�s help. And they assert that all people have equal access to God.

First Baptist Church

Here's a picture of the front part of the church building. The building had many rooms in it, and the doors to the actual church part were further down the sidewalk.

This is what you saw when you first walked into the church part of the building. A man was sitting in one of the chairs to greet you as you came it. He noticed us right away and asked where we were visiting from. They had pamphles and flyers with information about how to join their church.

Here are the doors to the church. They were right across from the welcoming table pictured above.
