Title: Is psychology dead?

Is psychology dead? Should it be called brain sciences instead?

Some of us believe psychology should retain its independence and autonomy, however every day more scientist believe the contrary.

What do you think?

I believe that psychology does and always will have a place in our world. It provides comfort and reason to the reason people do things. It is good and I hope it never leaves.

I think so too. Psychology has it own turf. At this level of study the subject is too complex to be handle by Biology or Brain Sciences. We cannot expect Newtonian physics to be manage by quantum mechanics; different levels have different rules and every level of nature has an incredible degree of complexity. Besides every level has its own strategy and tools to deal with it’s respective problems. In Biology for instance the use of history to interpret evolution is unique to this subject. Biology in deed cannot be reduce to chemistry or biochemistry or physics.
