Title: robot emotions

The European Union has started a project by the name of humaine, at a cost of six million British pounds, in order to become the world’s leader in emotional computation.

According to Dylan Evans the main scientist involved in this project, artificial emotions are as important to robots as they are to us, and contrary to the teachings of many philosophers since Plato human intelligence required of emotions in order to function properly. In deed humans who lack emotive processes due to cerebral damage or because of other reasons make many judgment mistakes.

Dylan thinks emotions will allow robots to make quick important decisions just as humans do. Also artificial emotions could be of aid in helping robots achieve consciousness. Although Dylan is not sure a conscious robot could be built one day.
