LAVOISIER
This year we should commemorate the 211th anniversary of Lavoisier's (1714-1794) death. This scientist had interest in multiple disciplines (Geology, Psychology and Economics among others). He was one of the founders of modern chemistry. Lavoisier was the first one to propose the law of mass conservation. He also discovered the role oxygen played in combustion and identified oxygen and nitrogen in the air. This chemist formulated the first rational chemical nomenclature as well as the first useful heat measures.
