Title: Largest Colossal Squid Ever Found
Marine Biologists have speculated about the existence of large squids in nature, but only partial evidence has ever been produced. That is, until Jan 2007, when a fishing boat in the Antarctic pulled in a colossal squid weighing nearly a ton. Colossal squids are a cousin to the famed Giant Squid of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which generally weigh more. This discovery will yield more information about the species than years of previous research combined. It is certainly an exciting time for marine biology. There was also video footage of the capture, which was completely accidental. This footage was sold, and it is estimated that a documentary of some kind will be released in April 2007.
