Title: New Method for Detecting Colon Cancer

A new method of blood analysis could detect colon cancer in an early stage. The test identifies fragments of genetic material in the blood stream coming from a tumor. The finding was published by the Academy of Science of The United States in the journal of Proceedings. The head of the medical team that developed the test is Bert Volgestein from John Hopkins medical school and hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
The test is simple and inexpensive and in most cases could let one know of the existence of an early tumor that could be removed by surgery.
